Congratulations to Garret, who is one of two investigators awarded the Jacob P. Waletzky Award from the Society for Neuroscience for 2017. Each year, the Waletzky Award is given to a young neuroscientist (<15 years after receiving a PhD or MD) whose research provides critical new insights into drug addiction. The Stuber lab's use of in vivo imaging and optogenetic techniques has helped to identify the role of specific neural circuits underlying addiction, as well as how drugs of abuse modulate these connections. Garret will receive the Waletzky Award during the annual SfN Neuroscience conference, which takes place November 10-15, 2017 in Washington, DC.
